Cubs, Lions beat Y’s Guys, Mixers

AMHERST – Brandon Hicks pitched the Cumberland Paving Cubs to a 6-2 win over the Y’s Guys during Wednesday night’s Amherst Little League.

Hicks struck out nine batters, and gave up three hits and two walks.

Cal Hoeg hit a double and a single in the game.

The Y’s Guys went through four pitchers – Jake Adams, Karter Giffin, Jayden Matheson and Brayden Stevens.

Colson Brown hit a double and Zack Boudreau and Matheson hit one single each.

Mixers vs. Lions

The Lions beat the Casey Concrete Mixers 11-7 on the Sonny Foster field.

Cole Stevens pitched for the Lions, striking out 14 batters, and giving up eight hits and seven walks.

Graden Chitty hit a double and a single for the lions, and Daniel MacDonald hit one double.

Jordan MacKenzie and Braden Nichol hit two singles, and Madden Miller hit one single.

Reese Blakeney pitched two innings for the Mixers and Isaac VanSnick pitched the last four innings.

They combined to strike out five batters, and gave up 10 hits and seven walks.

Jackson Colborne hit a home run, a double and a single for the Mixers, Josh Arsenault hit three singles, Landon Veno hit a triple and Cam Vance hit a single.

Amherst Little League will start at 6 p.m. for the rest of the season.
