Cross Border runners receive awards

AMHERST - Runners who participated the 2013 Cross Border Point Series recently receive awards during a ceremony at the Cumberland YMCA.

The point series consists of eight runs, starting with the Spring Tune Up 5K run on April 13, continuing with the Cross Border Challenge on June 21-22, and wrapping up with the Amherst Pumpkin Run on Oct. 26.

Terry MacDonald, member of the Cumberland Y's Service Club and co-race director handed out the awards during the ceremony.

Female overall standings:

1st place - Heather Griffins

2nd place - Shelley Carrol Dobson

3rd place - Kaitlin Conrad

Female age-group champions:

Zero to 29-years-old - Alexa Coleman

30 to 39-years-old - Victoria Vance

40 to 49-years-old - Sonya Fury

50 to 59-years-old - Bonnie Wilkie

60-plus - June Marsden

Male overall standings

1st place - Paul Thibodeau

2nd place - Sheldon Morris

3rd place - Anthony Fromm
