AMHERST – The Amherst Ramblers travel to Pictou County tonight to face off against the Weeks Crushers, a team they beat 5-3 Saturday nights during Maritime Hockey League action at Amherst Stadium.

“We’re looking forward to the game,” said Jim Bottomley, Amherst Ramblers coach and general manager. We have one suspension. (Brett) Shute is out for the second fight during a stoppage, and Ryan Caswell is still on the mend but he should be back later this weekend or the first of next week, so we’re not looking too bad health-wise.”

Bottomley said the Crushers are a very skilled team that doesn’t quit.

“They keep coming at you, so we have to use our size and be physical and, hopefully, wear them down come the third period.”

The Ramblers are on a four game win streak. In late November they beat Miramichi 2-1, and the Metro Shipbuilders 7-2, and so far this month they beat the Weeks Crushers 5-3, and Miramichi 5-2.

The puck drops tonight at 7 p.m.
