[ANTIGONISH, NS] - The town of Antigonish says it has reached a deal on a new collective agreement with the union for its electrical utility.

In a statement town CAO Stephen Feist says the agreement was reached with the help of a conciliator.

The six workers are represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1928.

They filed a 48-hour strike notice last Wednesday and town officials locked the workers out on Friday.

Details have not been released for the contract which runs until March 2017.
