Man continues to recover in hospital

Two have been remanded in custody following a domestic incident on Belmont Street on Boxing Day.

AMHERST - Amherst Police have remanded two into custody following a domestic incident on Boxing Day.

An Amherst male faces charges of breaching his recognizance, assault causing bodily harm and uttering death threats.

He continues to recover from injuries at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.

An Amherst woman was also charged Friday in relation to the same incident. She faces charges of aggravated assault.

She too was remanded in custody.  

Both accused are to attend court Monday morning in Amherst.

    How can a person with a order of recognizance against the other person be charged for assault? ..."An Amherst male faces charges of breaching his recognizance, assault causing bodily harm and uttering death threats." Is self defense even legal any more?
