Ramblers player Serge Boisvert led the Amherst Ramblers this weekend with 2 goals and one assist.

MIRAMICHI – The CIBC Wood Gundy Amherst Ramblers lost 4-3 to the Timberwolves Saturday night in Miramichi but beat the Campbellton Tigers 1-0 on Friday.

On Saturday, Miramichi took a 2-0 lead in the first period of the Maritime Hockey League game before Ryan Caswell made it a 2-1 game 16:36 into the first period, with assists from Brock Morrison and Cam McDonald.

Each team exchanged single goals in the second and third period.

Miramichi scored 20 seconds into the second period, taking a 3-1 lead, but the Ramblers made it a 3-2 game when Serge Boisvert scored with assistance from Brett Shute and Travis Howe.

Miramichi went ahead 4-2 with an empty net goal with 48 seconds left in the game but Amherst scored with 32 seconds later and the game ended with the Timberwolves up 4-3.

Richard Tingley let in three goals on 31 shots, before the Ramblers put the extra man on the ice.

Tingley’s teammates had 32 shots on Timberwolves goaltender Clint Windsor.

The Ramblers had eight penalties in the first period to Miramichi’f four penalties.

Each team had three penalties in the second period and neither team had a penalty in the third period.

855 people attended the game.

The Ramblers travelled to Campbellton on Saturday where they beat the Tigers 1-0.

The only goal of the game was scored 37 seconds into the first period, coming off the stick of Serge Boisvert, with help from Willie MacDonald and Daniel Walsh.

Tingley faced 37 shots during the game, and Tigers goaltender Miquel Sullivan faced 38 shots.

Tingley was named the games 1st star and Sullivan it’s second star, while Boisvert was the third star.
