JV’s host four-team tourney this weekend

AMHERST - Justine Benjamin's 14 points led the Pugwash District High School Panthers to a 50-36 win over the Amherst Regional High School JV Vikettes Tuesday at ARHS.

The Vikettes, who trailed 23-22 at halftime, were paced by Risha McKenney's 11 points, Brooke Wilson and Jadyn Soehner both with four each, followed by Jessica Wilson and Emma Taylor, both with three.

Miah Tooley, Rachel Chevarie, Steph MacDonald and Renee Allen had baskets and Sonia Minocha added a foul shot.

The Vikettes now prepare to host a four-team round-robin tournament at ARHS this weekend. The other three teams are the Oxford Golden Bears, the Hants East Tigers, and the North Nova Education Centre Gryphons.

The ARHS JV Girls Junior Varsity Tournament schedule is as follows:

Friday

5:15 p.m. – ARHS vs. Hants East

7 p.m. – North Nova vs. Oxford

Saturday

9 a.m. – Oxford vs. Hants East

10:45 a.m. – ARHS vs. North Nova

12:45 p.m. – North Nova vs. Hants East

2:30 p.m. – Oxford vs. Amherst
