Hello everyone! Well, I guess a couple of nice days are better than none and I'm sure there are more on the way.
The annual Shore Drive Community Development Association community clean up and barbecue is this weekend on Saturday, May 2. All residents from Wharton to Brookville are invited to participate and to meet Pat Biggar at Shaw Country Market at 9 a.m. for coffee, doughnuts, supplies and route assignments. Please let Pat or Terry Shaw know if you will be participating, so they can ensure that there is an adequate amount of supplies for the barbecue. You can reach Pat at 348-2140 or Terry at 348-2245.
Terry and Gayle Shaw have recently returned from Regina where they attended the graduation of their eldest grandson, Ryan Shaw, from the RCMP Training Academy. Terry and his son, Steve, presented Ryan, who also received the leadership award for his troop, with his badge. Terry and Gayle will be returning to Regina in May for another RCMP graduation, this time for Ryan's brother, Justin. Both grandsons are going to be stationed in British Columbia.
On behalf of the community I would like to send get well wishes to Clayton Colpitts, who is a patient in the hospital in Amherst. His family is happy to report that he is doing well and already making plans to return home as soon as he can.
Don't forget about the turkey supper at the FPW Fire Hall this Saturday, May 2, from 4:40 to 6 p.m. This supper is being put on by the Trinity Anglican Guild and is sure to be a great meal, so please come out and enjoy.
Well, that seems to be it for this week folks. Have a good one.
