Gertrude “Trudy” Boudreau

Gertrude " Trudy" Boudreau, 97 years of age, of Amherst, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 3, 2018 at the South Cumberland Health Care Centre, Parrsboro. Born in River Hebert, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Hestel (Smith) Wood. Born and brought up in River Hebert, Trudy attended Trinity United Church growing up. She joined the Catholic Church when she married her husband, John in December 1939. Her husband remained in the RCAF after the war which kept them moving from station to station, ending up in Halifax. Following retirement, they moved to Amherst where she was a member of the Holy Family Parish Church. Survived by daughter Gail Marie (Ronald) Dowe, Amherst, 2 granddaughters, Kimberlee Marie and Tosha Lee; great granddaughter Phebe Mae Dowe. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband John in 2004, an infant daughter; brothers Frank, Darrell, Reginald; sisters Doreen, Bernice, and Genevieve. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, N.S. (902-667-8777) No visitation by request or service by request.
