Estella D. ‘Stella’ Corbin It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Estella Corbin at the age of 91 on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Gables Lodge, Amherst. Born in Advocate Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Clayton and Hallie (Clark) Morris. She is survived by daughters, Marguerite, Abbotsford, B.C.; Katherine (Rob), Enfield; sons, Lindsay (Sharon), Littleton, Mass.; Garnet, Regina Sask.; Owen, Bedford; sisters, Sylvia, Ruth, both of Amherst; Wanda, West Advocate; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Ivan; brothers, Murray, Glenford, Calvin, Wilfred. Stella was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Advocate Baptist Church and church choir, the True Blue Lodge and was president of the Super Senior Club. She was employed at the Bayview Memorial Hospital in Advocate Harbour for 29 years. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the Advocate Baptist Church, where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2017. Burial in the Advocate Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Advocate Fire Department or to the Advocate Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro.
