Debra Anne Mackay

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Debra Anne MacKay, 61 of Amherst on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan. Born October 2, 1956 in Halifax, NS, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Elsie (Lewis) Carter; also predeceased by her brothers, Frank Carter and David in infancy. Debra will be lovingly remembered by her son, Steven MacKay; former husband, Murray MacKay; granddaughter, Raven; grandsons, Mark and Cameron; sister, Gloria Cormier; nephews, Evan, Brad and extended family. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints and enjoyed offering meals to the missionaries. Debra was a hardworking women, wonderful mom and will be remembered for her big heart and generosity shown to others. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst (902) 667-9906. As per the family request, there will be no services. In lieu of floral tributes, memorial contributions in Debra’s memory may be made to a local mental health cause.
