PORT LORNE, NS – Two people face drug charges after police searched a home in Port Lorne Wednesday evening and seized cocaine and marijuana.

Members of the Annapolis District RCMP’s Street Crime Enforcement Unit, along with members of Annapolis District RCMP, searched the home April 4 after an investigation.

Two people, a 29-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, both of Port Lorne, were arrested without incident.

Along with quantities of cocaine and marijuana, drug paraphernalia was also seized.

Both people were released from custody the same evening and are scheduled to appear in Annapolis Provincial Court on June 18. Police said they are each facing charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

"The amount of cocaine and the manner of packaging clearly indicates these individuals were actively selling illicit drugs in our community," said Staff Sergeant Dan MacGillivray of Annapolis District RCMP. "We encourage anyone who has information about drug use in Annapolis County to contact the RCMP and we'll look into it."

The investigation is ongoing.
