UPPER NAPPAN – Dogs and cats are rejoicing at the L.A. Animal Shelter after $1,075 was raised for the shelter during the second annual Pet Expo Saturday in Upper Nappan. The event was a joint effort between Helen Douglas, Carrie Rhindress of Park Your Paws, and a group of volunteers.

“It was a huge success. We had twice as many people show up than we had last year, to the point where we need extra parking,” said Carrie Rhindress, one of the owners of Park Your Paws.

About 30 vendors took part in the expo, which also featured dog shows and exhibitions.

Money was raised for the L.A. Animal Shelter through admission sales, basket raffles, and 50/50 draws.

“This is something we’re going to be looking forward to doing every spring,” said Rhindress. “We hope people bring their dogs next year and enjoy themselves and come out to support the local shelter.”

She also thanked all the volunteers for all the hours they put in to make the event a success.

“Without the volunteer’s this wouldn’t be possible.”
