Cumberland RCMP and the Colchester Integrated Street Crime Unit seized over 2,000 methamphetamine pills Dec. 11, during a concerted traffic stop near Amherst.
The Highway 104 traffic stop lead to the arrest of two men and seizure of the drugs as well as $2000 cash.
The driver, a 49-year-old man from Hilden, was arrested for breaching his parole conditions. He is also facing a charge of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. He will remain in custody until his court appearance at a later date.
The passenger, a 33-year-old from Bible Hill, is also facing a charge of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Amherst Provincial Court on February 5, 2018.
The investigation is ongoing.
