SPRINGHILL – More than 50 volunteers and volunteer organizations were celebrated by the Municipality of Cumberland County at the 2018 Volunteer Recognition Evening Thursday night at the Dr. Carson & Marion Murray Community Centre is Springhill.

Cumberland County volunteers recognized Thursday night include the following:

Representative Volunteer of the Year

Barbara Aris

The Municipality of the County of Cumberland would like to formally recognize and congratulate Barbara on all the countless hours of volunteer work she has contributed to the community. In 2008, while still working full time, Barbara started, and still chairs a Parkinson’s support group, exercise classes for seniors and those with disabilities and has brought several educational seminars to the area. Barbara is also involved in numerous associations, including the Shore Drive Community Development Association, Age of Sail Heritage Museum, SPAR Community Health Board, the High-Speed Internet Project and the Robert Cochran War Memorial. Barbara also has two successful small free libraries.

Thank you to Barbara and all of our dedicated volunteers throughout Cumberland County.3

Volunteer Representative Nominee

Mel Musgrave

Mel took over as Chairman without hesitation of the Shore Drive Community Development Association. He also took on a large project repairing 16 bridges along the closed Ward Falls Trail, mostly on his own. Mel is also involved with the Shore Drive Community Development Association as Trail Supervisor, Chairman and on the Board of Directors for the Age of Sail Museum.

Volunteer Representative Nominee

Sharon Benjamin

Sharon is the “Keeper of the History” as well as the Treasurer of the Shore Drive Development Association, being with the association since its conception in 2000. Sharon is also on the Board of Directors, Foot Clinic Administrator and the Tai Chi Administrator for the Shore Drive Development Association.

1st Fenwick Beavers, Cubs, Scouts

Cathy Crinnion

Cathy has been involved with Scouts Canada since 2012 in Ontario with the 1st Bolton Scout Group. She has been with the 1st Fenwick Beavers, Cubs and Scouts since 2014 in various roles such as Assistant Cub Leader (2014/2015), Sponsor/Partner Representative (2014/2015), Cub Leader (2015) and Contact Beaver Leader (2015 – 2018).

All Saints Springhill Hospital Auxiliary

Marlene Hopkins

Marlene joined the All Saints Springhill Auxiliary in January 2014. After one year, she accepted the position of Secretary. Marlene participates in fund raisers, patient visits as well as regional and provincial educational events and has chaired the Constitution and By-Law Review Committee. Marlene brings extensive experience to the auxiliary being previously employed with the United Way and Y.M.C.A in Halifax.

Amateur Radio

Jim Langille

Jim has dedicated countless hours to public safety through the West Cumberland Amateur Radio Club. He has organized communication for many public events including the Cross-Border Challenge and Operation Pumpkin Patrol, which assists police on Halloween night. For the past ten years, his work on a number of websites, on behalf of CANWARN Atlantic with Environment Canada and Exercise Handshake, monthly, and with Public Safety and Field Communications Nova Scotia has made both of these programs very successful.

Amherst Curling Club

Robin Keith

Robin is the Treasurer for the Amherst Curling Club and has been for several years. Robin was the project manager for the recent renovation project, he wrote and procured grants totalling $91,000 and secured contractors and volunteer labour. Robin helped secure the funding for the rings in the ice that depict the Four Fathers of Confederation, a Canada 150 project. He was responsible for the introduction of doubles curling at the club and represented at Provincials for the first year. He helped create a bonspiel, which resurrected the Earl Grey trophy the club was awarded in the early 1900’s. Robin is also trained as a club coach for students and youth.

Blast from Our Past is an ever-growing Facebook group, comprised of members and their families from the Springhill area dedicated to the sharing of old memories and photo’s. We would like to recognize Judy Kavalak and Dave Mitchell for their continued sharing of old pictures and memories of people and families from our community. 5

Cobequid Chapter I.O.D.E.

Diane Campbell

Everyone who knows Diane Campbell calls her Bonnie, and they will tell you that she is a great gal. Bonnie is outgoing, enthusiastic and reliable. As a member of the I.O.D.E., Bonnie uses all of these gifts to help our organization achieve its goals. As a new member, Bonnie worked on many committees, learning from and assisting the officers. When bonnie did take an office and an appointee position, they were both a natural fit. She worked at both the provincial and national level as Cobequids representative and as the Chapters Communications Officer. As Cobequids 2018 volunteer of the year, the chapter would like to thank her for her continuous efforts within this organization.

Cumberland African Nova Scotia Association (CANSA)

Leah Killen

Leah was born and raised and a lifelong resident of Springhill. An individual who has been committed to raising the bar, always assisting without asking – whether her family, a friend or a stranger – you can count on Leah. She has always been involved in her community. As an employee of the Head Start program, Leah gave 200%. Her strength in volunteerism for the last 17 years with CANSA has been in organizing and planning the annual cultural concerts for the community. Leah’s love for her community citizens and the diversity she brings to the table is every apparent. She is a very deserving candidate for the Municipal Volunteer Recognition as her hours of work are too many to count!

Cumberland Blues Association

Loretta St. Peter

Loretta has supported the Blues working the door on game nights and selling tickets on anything including 50/50 tickets. Loretta was a huge help for the Blues.

Cumberland County Museum and Archives

Gordon Goodwin

Since 1996, Gordon has been in general consulting management for design requirements and project specifications, coupled with Project and Construction Management. Previous to being involved with Project Management, Gordon owned and operated a construction company, as President and General Manager. Presently, Gordon is involved with numerous committees including the Planning Advisory Committee for the Town of Amherst, Executive Committee and Director with the Cumberland Museum Society, Executive Committee Finance and Administration for the Holy Family Parish, Columnist for the Amherst Daily News and Project Consultant for Dillon Engineering Research.

Cumberland Geological Society

Karen Dickinson

Karen has been an amazing example of a community volunteer and determination. Karen has been a board member for the Fundy Geological Centre for the last couple of years. She volunteers with her church, Autumn House and is a founding member of Parrsboro’s’ Relay for Life. Karen was instrumental in the upgrades for the Fundy Geological Museum and the acquisition of the Eldon George Project. Karen exemplifies a caring community volunteer, selfless in her endeavours to help build and keep a strong community. We are honored and fortunate to have had her on our board.

Cumberland Health Care Auxiliary

Ruth Pipes

Ruth has for many years been a strong volunteer supporter of the functions of the Cumberland County Health Care Auxiliary. Particularly, she has devoted many hours of time as Treasurer of the annual Highland Fling an auxiliary function that has contributed thousands of dollars to enhance health care in the entire community of Cumberland. Ruth being an employee of the local Scotiabank has continually worked with the other organizations which are supported by her employer.

Andrea Rushton

Andrea has been an active volunteer since 2009 and has contributed over 400 hours. Through training, responding to house fires, deployment to New Brunswick and education. Andrea also engages her husband and two boys in the education piece of the work she does. Andrea continues to bring a wealth of knowledge to the table each and every time she is volunteering. Andrea is always up for a challenge and always finds the positive in every situation. We are very fortunate to have Andrea on our team. 6

Mark came on board in 2017 as a community representative for Springhill. He has attended several sessions to help offenders understand the impact of their actions on his community.

Cumberland Twirlers

Ken & Etta Adams

Ken and Etta graduated in 2014 and immediately became actively involved. They are enthusiastic and valuable members of the club. They served as Vice President Couple in 2015 and 2016. In 2017 and 2018, they continue to serve as our Secretary Couple as well as taking on any other responsibility that is required of them. They attend weekly club dances and regularly help with new dancers being “Square Angels”. The Cumberland Twirlers is therefore very proud to recognize Ken and Etta.

Hayden volunteers his time every weekend in the canteen. He is trained on cash and fryers and has great customer service. He is an 18 years old student of Springhill High School who will graduate in June. Good job Hayden!

Liz Zollner

Liz is a valued supporting member of St. Andrews Wesley United Church. Her membership is in the churches Faith & Service Fellowship group is greatly appreciated by her fellow members. Always ready to lead a hand in whatever projects on the agenda, be it preparing food, setting tables, and serving patrons at church fundraising dinners or contributing to business matters at regular monthly meetings. Liz is wonderful example of cheerful giving for others. She is especially appreciated for her faithful willingness to make necessary arrangements for catering countless funeral receptions at the A.H. Browns Funeral Home on her churches behalf.

FPW Fire Brigade – Port Greville

Keith McClelland

Keith has been a member of the FPW Fire Brigade for 22 years. Keith is a valued and reliable member and is active in any activity involving the organization. He is always on scene at any of the calls helping and directing traffic. Every Fire Department should have a “Keith”.

Gettin’ Healthy Springhill & Garden Committee

Alex Watson

Alex has been dedicated to Springhill’s Community Gardens and Gardens around Cumberland County for many years and works tirelessly to ensure their growth, sustainability and beautification. Alex has a passion for educating youth, engaging families of all ages and encouraging community members to garden. He takes great pride in his work and gives back to the community without hesitation. Alex without a doubt plays an integral role in the success of our Community Gardens. 7

Girl Guides of Canada – Springhill Guiding Community

Felicia O’Brien

Felicia had been a member of Guiding for many years. She started as a Brownie; then achieved awards such as her Lady Baden Powell in Guides and her Canada Cord in Pathfinders. She has stayed involved as an adult and is now a leader with the 1st Springhill Pathfinders and 2nd Springhill Guides. As a Pathfinder, she participated in the Provincial Quest Adventure Camp and is a keen camper. She managed to hold a successful Gold Pathfinder Camp despite being thoroughly drenched when setting up part of the campsite. Felicia has assisted Springhill Guiding Community with many cookie blitzes over the years. Felicia had been “artist in residence” for 2 successful Art for Guiding events to raise money for the Springhill Guiding Community.

Junction Road & West End Home & School Association

Ian & Kerri Pyke

Ian is a dedicated classroom teacher and Kerri is a dedicated literacy mentor; they are both members of the Springhill Elementary Home and School Association. Over the past 10 plus years, Ian and Kerri have dedicated countless hours to support the Springhill Elementary Schools. They demonstrate leadership in our community by involving parents, community members and educators in various events throughout the school year. They have been lead organizers for various fundraising events such as Fun Fair, Vesey’s Seeds, the Run Club and Blue’s Night. They have attended every Home & School meeting, not missing one in over ten years. They work tirelessly at all fundraisers such as our Drive 4 UR School event, Norcard fundraisers, Christmas Store, Princess Tea, 50/50 etc. They are both valuable members of our Home & School team, making a difference in the lives of our students and families and are shining examples of volunteers who have made a significant contribution to the Springhill Elementary Schools.

L.A. Animal Shelter

Bonnie Graham

Bonnie has been an active volunteer in the community for many years. When her children were young, she was involved with Home & School for 6 years at Brookdale School. She was also a parent volunteer in the Air Cadet program. She currently volunteers with the ladies group at the United Church in Amherst assisting with various activities. In January 2017 Bonnie took on running the online auction for the LA Animal Shelter. She has worked tirelessly, organizing and posting items each week. She has recently joined the LA Animal Shelter Board of Directors. Bonnie accomplishes all of this while working full time, caring for nine rescue cats three sons, two daughter-in-law’s, and three young grandchildren. Bonnie is an asset to the community and especially to the LA Animal Shelter.

Leicester Volunteer Fire Department

Greg Brennan

Greg has been a member of our department for over 2 years now and has shown exemplary commitment to our organization. With near perfect attendance at regular fire hall meetings, practices, and emergency calls, he has also completed Cumber County Level One Firefighter Training, and is currently completing his level two qualifications. Greg is the President of our Fire Departments’ resurrected Auxiliary, growing from 5 to 9 members and helped bring in over 630 people to our 2018 Annual Good Friday Pancake Brunch. Greg’s performance in the Fire department and Auxiliary has resulted in a boost of morale in the group, inspiring others to do more as he leads by example. On top of all of Greg’s volunteer firefighter commitments, he also serves to organize work days at the Habitat for Humanity Housing Project in Oxford. Greg is responsible for drumming up volunteer interest from community members and organizations to complete home for families in need. Greg also supervises and assists volunteer crews at the building projects. Greg shows a selfless, genuine desire to help people in need, whether he has a fire helmet or hard hat on his head.

MADD Cumberland Tantramar

Sydney Calder

Sydney has been a volunteer for MADD Cumberland-Tantramar since 2013. She has made numerous positive contributions to the MADD Chapter and Amherst and has helped run events like the MADD Road Rally, is the current Secretary of the committee, has organized high school presentations and helped with several campaigns in her time with MADD. Her work with the Co-operators-Bruce White Insurance Agencies Ltd., helped to secure a recent presentation by Mitch Dorge; Dorge shared his story and insights with students at Amherst Regional High on November 28, 2017. Sydney is also the co-planner of the MADD Road Rally, Cumberland-Tantramars’ most successful fundraiser. 8

Marj is a retired nurse who devotes every Wednesday to the patients on the Restorative Care Unit at All Saints Springhill Hospital. Marj is a valued member of our health care team!

Nova Scotia Health Authority – Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre

Gloria Colborne

Gloria has been a longtime volunteer with NSHA. She has a weekly shift at the Information Kiosk at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Gloria also maintains a database for volunteer hours. Gloria is a valued member of the Volunteer Services team!

Nova Scotia Health Authority – South Cumberland Community Care Centre

Emma Trottier

Emma started volunteering in long term care at the South Cumberland Community Care Centre when she was 12 years old. She is now in grade 12 and will be heading off to university in the fall with hopes to become a physician! Emma is a valued member of our health care team!

Parrsboro Community Radio

Alain Couture

Alain joined the radio station as a volunteer, originally to help with any technical/computer issues but, very quickly, learned that volunteers work on all aspects of the radio. Through the work at the radio station, Alain has been able to meet a great deal of people in and around Parrsboro. He also volunteers with the Legion, the Shore Drive Development Association, the Handley Page 100 Anniversary Project, the Parrsboro United Baptist Church and the Diligent River United Baptist Church. He was also a former Treasurer and volunteer with the Parrsboro Lighthouse Society.

Parrsboro Lion’s Club

Maggie Phinney

Maggie joined the Parrsboro Lion’s in September 2016. She is active with Bingo and is currently Chair of the committee and sits on the Bylaws and memberships committee. She has been an active member of Branch 45 Legion, serving on various committees and executives until this year. Maggie is currently a Lay Minister in the Anglican Church and is active on the Parish Council as Secretary and Spiritual Development since coming to Parrsboro in 2011. Maggie was also with the Friends of Fire Fighters and SPAR Community Health Board, serving 2 years as Chair.

Parrsboro Shore Historical Society

Harriet McCready

Harriet spent her working career in science and senior management roles for NS Health Care. She is a caring mother, wife and volunteer for a variety of organizations and friend to many in the community. In 2012, she became President of the Historical Society and has led us through challenging rebuilding projects, strategic planning, interpretive work and general museum management. Thanks to her leadership, PSHS was rated very highly in the Association of NS Museums’ evaluations last year. Harriett exudes energy, understanding, determination and perseverance. Through all her work with PSHS, she always has a smile for everyone!

RCMP Victim Service Volunteer Program

RCMP Victim Service Volunteer Program is a police based program where trained volunteers work under the direction of the RCMP to assist victims and provide them with information, emotional support and referrals. Our volunteers assist victims with situations, such as, break and enters, theft, vandalism, harassment, assaults, family violence, neighbourhood crime and trauma. They also provide assistance and information on social, legal, medical and mental health services, as well as assistance with referrals to agencies that may be helpful. 9

Retired Teachers Organization, Cumberland Branch

Barry Anderson

Barry Anderson retired from teaching in June of 2003 and has been the Treasurer for the Retired Teachers Organization (Cumberland Branch) for almost as many years. Barry has coached basketball and works with Baseball Nova Scotia offering coaching clinics. Barry had coached the River Hebert High School basketball team, assisted the local Tai Kwon Do club and coached baseball at St. Frances Xavier University. Barry helps with the “Student Night” for young people who will attend St. FX and works as the St. FX Alumni Representative in our area. Barry has sat on the RCMP Advisory Board in Cumberland County for 3 years and is on the Cumberland County Financial Board. Barry volunteers at his local church, tutors seniors high students in math and works in his garden with his grandsons, teaching them the importance of healthy living.

Ross Anderson Pharmacy Teen Centre

Hayden Ripley

Hayden has been a longtime volunteer of the Ross Anderson Pharmacy Teen Centre. He is always assisting the coordinators with set-ups, clean-ups and activities including some for our larger events like the Annual Teen Centre Halloween Dance, Canada 150 Skate and even assists in the kitchen with some of our catered events.

Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #17

Carl White

Carl is the Sargent at Arms, an executive member, part of the cleaning crew and works the door for dances. Carl is a valued Legion volunteer who makes himself available whenever needed.

Ship’s Company Theatre

Karine McGregor

Karine has been a volunteer with Ship’s Company for 11 years. She does a large variety of tasks – selling 50/50 tickets, working as an usher multiple times a week, works at our many and various fundraising activities and pretty much anything else we ask her to do. She is dependable and always willing to lend us a helping hand. Sometimes staff wonders what they’d do without her. She is an active member of her church and has volunteered her time with many other organizations including the Friends of the Firefighters and the PC Party. She loves to walk her dog, Bronson, spending time with her grandchildren and is always helping other people out – visiting, running errands or being a chauffeur.

SPAR Community Health Board

Trudy Weir & Terri Ashley

Both women Co-Chair the SPAR Community Health Board and have done so for the past year and have been members of the CHB for over 3 years. In their role as CHB volunteers, they have been active in bringing several mental wellness programs to their area, they have lead the Coats for Cumberland program in Parrsboro for the past 2 years and have helped run several events and wellness clinics. They are both believers in health promotion and the population health approach.

Springhill and Area Chamber of Commerce

Mike Priest

Mike has been actively involved in the Chamber of Commerce for the past 2 years. This year he recently accepted the position of Treasurer. Mike’s volunteer efforts are greatly appreciated and he is a valuable member of our executive.

Springhill Baptist Willing Workers

Erdean Crowe

Erdean is presently the Secretary of the Springhill Baptist Willing Workers and is also member of the WMS, Pythian’s, Rebekah’s and a volunteer at High Crest Nursing home. She has been a great supporter of Cumberland Minor Hockey for many, many years and is a die-hard Boston Bruins fan. Her voice can be heard at both the Cumberland Blues and Amherst Ramblers games. She is still actively volunteering with our group at 80 plus years young. She is a generous, kind, thoughtful and loving lady. 10

Springhill Ground Search & Rescue

Earl Gilbert

Earl has been a member since 2007. Although he is unable to travel the woods very much, he is still of great assistance in a variety of jobs around the command post, such as transporting searchers to various locations. Earl is always eager to assist in any way he can.

Springhill Heritage Group

Dwight Gallagher

Dwight Gallagher has been a much-valued member of the Springhill Heritage Group. Currently, he serves as our Vice President. His vision for the future of the Isabel Simpson Heritage Centre, through the use of various technological support, is not only an inspiration for all of us but also ensures the centre’s continued contribution and importance to our community’s heritage. Dwight’s talents have been a major asset for both our seasonal and permanent displays. His eye for detail and his keen awareness of organizing artifacts have led to improvements in our museum’s exhibits, taking them to a more professional level. With Dwight’s leadership, our organization and museum have much to look forward to in the future.

Springhill High School

Chelsea Atkinson

Chelsea Atkinson, daughter of Paul and Tanya Atkinson is a grade 12 student at Springhill High School. Chelsea has recently been accepted to the two-year Social Services program at NSCC Cumberland and eventually hopes to obtain her degree in Social Work and plans to follow with a career in Law Enforcement. Chelsea is currently and has been involved in numerous school activities such as Student Council, Music Programs, Youth Advisory, The Healthy Relationships for Youth Program, Cops N Kids Leadership Camps and Grad Committee President just to name a few. Chelsea is very active in her community volunteering with youth, and as a musician, performing at local benefits and fundraisers.

Springhill Lions Club

Lillian Rushton

Lillian joined the Lions Club in 2016 and has been an active Lion, implementing many important service projects in our community such as the senior mobile library. Every month, Lion Lillian faithfully collects and rotates books and reading materials in all the Springhill Senior apartments. This is a free literacy program for seniors and shut-ins, providing them access to books. Lion Lillian is also the club’s hearing and sight chair and collects used eyeglasses and hearing aids to be recycled and distributed in developing countries. She is also our Vice President and chairs the Christmas Parade Committee. Lion Lillian is the first to help with projects, always offering a hand with all tasks. She displays a positive attitude and infectious laugh with a compassionate heart to help and serve others. She makes the club proud that she is a Lion – our Lion and she certainly deserves the recognition.

Sunset Community Auxiliary

The Sunset Community Auxiliary members have gone above and beyond for 30 years to the mission of making life better for clients who reside at the Sunset Community in Pugwash. The Auxiliary is made up of Barbara Clark, President; Marianne MacMillan, Vice President; Secretary, Arlyle Siscoe and Treasurer Maggie Stone. Alison Bidwell is incoming Secretary/Treasurer for 2018. Other active members are Shirley Bidwell, Helen Canfield, Dorothy Thomas, Tiffany Derby and several associate members as well as those who have passes on. These dedicated volunteers have been raising funds to provide quality supplies, specialized sensory leisure equipment, recreation/leisure supplies, in house furniture, lawn furniture, fore places, staff training, etc. The Sunset Community Auxiliary also hosts the annual Sunset Summer Fair, the Sunset fall craft/gift sale and the December in-house Christmas sale

The Fenwick United Church

Carol Shea

Carol was a member of Brookdale United Church and taught Sunday school in the 1980’s. She collects for the Kidney Foundation and judges 4H public speaking contests. Carol joined the Fenwick United Church March 3, 2986 and was appointed Elder (Member of the Board Sessions) and has been Treasurer for many years. Carol is very active in the church and community and is also a loving Grandmother to her 2 great grandchildren. 11

The Salvation Army – Springhill

Joan Brown

Joan volunteers through the Salvation Army mainly cleaning at the Thrift store and reading scriptures, singing and visiting residents at 2 of the nursing homes in the area, White Birches and High Crest, as well as many hours on the Christmas kettles. This is just the tip of the ice burg for how Joan volunteers her time.

The Springhill Senior Citizens & Retired Pensioners Club

Hilton & Doris McNutt

As long-time members, Hilton and Doris have played a great role in the Club by their acts of volunteering. Doris is currently on the kitchen committee, where she makes sure the kitchen is kept in order and Hilton is on the purchasing committee. Together they look after the silent auctions and help with the cleaning up after the Thursday suppers. They also like to play 45’s and enjoy the dances. Hilton and Doris are great examples of what volunteering is all about.

Wanda Gilbert Horton Memorial Tournament (for the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia

Rick Laurie

For the past 24 years Rick has spent countless hours volunteering his time for this event that the family of late Wanda Gilbert-Horton graciously donates all monies raised to support the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova scotia in memory of Wanda. Rick does a lot for our community that goes unnoticed behind the scenes and is very deserving of being recognized as not only the families’ choice but also for other events that take place in our community. Congratulations Rick!

Brenda is an active volunteer in the community, working for various organizations doing many different tasks. Mainly, Brenda can be found spending her time at the Wentworth Community Library & C@Psite as acting Treasurer, Program Co-Coordinator and mentor to new volunteers. As a key member of the C@Psite Steering Committee since 2000, Brenda had overseen countless summer children’s programs, technology tutoring and fundraising events. When not volunteering with the C@Psite, Brenda can be found every Thursday selling tickets at the community Bingo and either working in the kitchen or manning the entrance for various events held at the Learning Centre or Recreation Centre.

Wentworth Learning Centre

Carol Hyslop

Carol has been an active volunteer at the Wentworth Learning Centre since day one, acting as secretary on the board of directors and the Education committee. Every Sunday afternoon Carol can be found in the New Millennium Library sorting, cataloguing, carding and filing books, helping visitors with computer issues and assisting with services such as printing, photocopying, scanning and email. Carol loves volunteering and working within the community and can be found spending her time at other organizations, including the Wentworth United Church and Recreation Centre

Wentworth Volunteer Fire Department

Arden Little

Arden has been a member of the Wentworth Volunteer Fire Department for more than 30 years. He attends every training night, meetings and most calls. Arden was an Executive member for more than 20 years, acting in various positions (mostly Treasurer). As a long time member, Arden is a leader and mentor to new firefighters and is an appreciated team player

Westchester Volunteer Fire Department

Troy Moore

Troy has been a member of the Westchester Volunteer Fire Department since 1999. He is a Cumberland County Level One qualified Firefighter, an EHS Medical First Responder and currently holds the rank of Captain in the department. Troy has served for many years on the Ways and Means Committee, volunteered his time at countless fund-raising events and is always willing to attend training exercises and courses. He has also participated in the Fire Fit Challenge and Walk in Our Boots events as part of the Westchester Team. Troy has an easy-going personality and works well under pressure. He is always willing to help newer members learn new skills and help older members refresh their skills. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience with his son who is also a member of the department.
