AMHERST  – Visitor restrictions at the South Cumberland Community Care Centre in Parrsboro have been lifted.

The restrictions were put in place on April 4 due to a gastrointestinal illness that was circulating among residents.

Nova Scotia Health Authority reminds the public not to visit patients in hospital or long-term care if you are ill. Illnesses such as colds, flu and stomach viruses spread easily from person to person and are more serious for those who are already ill. Good hand washing helps prevent the spread of infection.

Nova Scotia Health Authority appreciates the public's help in preventing the spread of the illness.
