Emergency surgical cases were being accepted as of noon Friday.
Since May 28, hospitals in Moncton and Truro were on standby to accept emergency cases.
Air quality tests conducted in the area of the operating rooms showed good results allowing for the decision to reopen the ORs.
The surgical team will prioritize all postponed cases to ensure the most urgent procedures are scheduled first. Patients who had surgery postponed will be contacted directly to reschedule.
There will be a slight delay in rescheduling endoscopy cases (colonoscopies and gastro scopes) because cleanup and repairs in that area are still in progress.
It is anticipated those cases will be rescheduled beginning late next week.
Approximately 100 surgical and endoscopy cases were postponed over the past week.
