HALIFAX – Cumberland County’s new MLA has been given two critic roles within the Progressive Conservative caucus.
Tory Rushton, who was elected Cumberland South MLA in a June by-election, has been named the party’s critic for agriculture and labour and advanced education.
Rushton will also serve on the legislature’s economic development committee.
Cumberland North MLA Elizabeth Smith-McCrossin and the party’s other leadership candidates have been asked to step away from their critic roles while the leadership race is on.
The party will select a new leader this fall.
