Ready for lift-off

PARRSBORO, N.S. – Blue skies and free ice cream were served during the Family Kite Flying event Saturday at Partridge Island just outside of Parrsboro.

There was only one problem. Somebody forgot to order the wind.

Despite the lack of wind, youngsters still tried their best to get their kites to take flight by running along the beach with kites fluttering close behind.

It was a very calm day.
A boat was anchored just off shore from Partridge Beach.

The event was sponsored by the Parrsboro Lions Club, which provided free ice cream from the Ottawa House Museum for kids who attended the event.
