RCMP investigating arson involving off duty officer’s cars

TIDNISH BRIDGE, N.S. – Cumberland RCMP are investigating a suspicious car fire early Tuesday that damaged two vehicles of an off duty RCMP officer.

The off duty officer saw a small car speeding away on Highway 366 in the direction of Pugwash. He had been alerted by the barking of his dogs.
The interiors of both vehicles were damaged and the Tidnish Bridge Volunteer Fire Department extinguished the fires.
Investigators believe something flammable was placed inside the vehicles. No one was hurt.
Police will not say whether the officer was targeted.
