AMHERST – The following people appeared in provincial court on Monday to plead guilty to a charge, or charges, or were sentenced after pleading guilty.

– Goodwin pleads guilty to trafficking

Jake Joseph Goodwin, 25, of Brookdale pleaded guilty in court on Monday to possessing marijuana, less than three kilograms, for the purpose of trafficking.

The incident occurred April 12, 2012, in Amherst.

He will be sentenced Nov. 24, at 1:30 p.m. in Amherst.

– Murray pleads guilty to assault

Darren Eli Murray, 40, of Crescent Avenue, Amherst, pleaded guilty in court on Monday to committing assault upon a female.

The incident occurred Aug. 3, 2014, in Amherst.

He will be sentenced Nov. 25, at 9:30 a.m. in Amherst.

– Steeves sentenced for impaired driving 

Darren Steeves, 48, of Fort Lawrence, was sentenced in court on Monday to a fine of $1,498.95 after pleading guilty to operating a motor vehicle while his ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

The incident occurred June 26, 2014, in Amherst.

– Hopkins sentenced for several charges 

Devon Sam Allen Hopkins, 22, of Willow Street, Amherst, was sentenced in court on Monday to a fine of $463 after pleading guilty to the unlawful possession of marijuana.

The incident occurred April 17, 2014, in Amherst.

Hopkins was also sentenced to a suspended sentence, six months probation and 50 hours community service to be completed by March 6, 2015, after pleading guilty to failing without lawful excuse to comply with an order to complete 25 hours of community service.

The incident occurred between Aug. 26, 2013, and May 25, 2014, in Amherst.

He was also sentenced to a suspended sentence and six months probation, concurrent to other sentences, after pleading guilty to failing without lawful excuse to comply with an order to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The incident occurred April 17, 2014, in Amherst.
