AMHERST – Nova Scotia’s commitment to an inclusive province by 2030 and the passing of Bill 59 are just two of the many reason why inclusion in the workplace is in the forefront of our communities’ mind!

This is why reachAbility Association, supported by Nova Scotia Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage has created Opening Doors for Everyone.

On July 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Cumberland YMCA, nationally recognized NGO reachAbility Association will be providing a comprehensive look at inclusion of all of our citizens.

This customized training module is a part of a province-wide, roadshow that will provide over 350 businesses access to the very best in inclusion expertise at no charge.

Join local agencies, builders and experts on grants to learn ways for businesses to improve accessibility for persons with disabilities and to make our province the most inclusive it can be.

“Even if we remove all of the architectural barriers, attitudinal barriers will still remain” explains Tova Sherman, reachAbility CEO and lead trainer. “That is why this roadshow is so important - we want to let all our citizens, across Nova scotia, know that including persons with disabilities as customers and co-workers is good business for everyone!”

reachAbility is a Halifax-based, grassroots, non-profit organization; specializing in equalizing the playing field for persons facing barriers. Through self-management and employment services, reachAbility provides individuals from diverse backgrounds the opportunities needed to reach their full potential.

In addition to the many programs and services offered throughout the community, reachAbility has been a leader, across Canada, for almost 20 years in providing businesses a variety of training opportunities to diversify their workplace and increase disability and diversity education.
