HALIFAX – Nominations for the Cumberland South by-election closed Wednesday with four candidates vying to be the riding’s next MLA on June 19.

Candidates include: Larry Duchesne from the NDP, Liberal Scott Lockhart, Bruce W. McCulloch from the Green Party and Progressive Conservative Tory Rushton.

Early voting is possible every Monday through Saturday up to election day.
The returning office at the Royal Canadian Legion in Springhill, is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday, except 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 14 and Friday, June 15.
The advance poll at St. George’s Anglican Hall in Parrsboro is open Saturday June 9 to Saturday June 16 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., except 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 14 and Friday, June 15.

Community polls at Brookdale Community Hall in Brookdale, and Wentworth Recreation Centre in Wentworth Centre, are open Friday June 15 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, June 16 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Eligible electors may vote at any early voting opportunity in the electoral district from Monday through Saturday. On election day, the voter must go to an assigned poll location.
