AMHERST – RCMP in Cumberland County issued 50 tickets and warnings to drivers during the weekend.

On Saturday, two men, ages 18 and 19, were charged for stunting on the 104 near Springhill when they were both noted to be travelling 54 km/h over the posted speed limit of 110 km/h.

They were in separate vehicles and received fines of $2,422.50 each and both vehicles were towed and seized for seven days.

On Nov. 12 on the Trans-Canada Highway between Fort Lawrence and Fenwick, RCMP charged 24 drivers with offences under the Move Over Law with fines ranging from $237.50 and $2,422.50.

Seven drivers were charged with speeding and one passenger was charged with not wearing a seatbelt.

Sixteen warnings were also issued along with two defect notices to drivers for various offences under the Motor Vehicle Act.
