Turkey Burger Sale

11:30 a.m. at St. Andrew’s-Wesley United Church, Springhill. Eat-in, takeout and delivery.

 

Musical Evening

8 to 11 p.m. at the Springhill Senior’s Centre.

 

Write Dance Laugh Love

7:30 p.m. Showcase Productions presents Write Dance Laugh Love: The Making of a Community Theatre at E.B. Chandler Junior High, Amherst on April 29 and 30. In support of scholarship program.

 

Joint Church Luncheon

11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Presbyterian Church, Wallace. Homemade baked beans, casseroles, brown break, rolls, biscuits, variety of desserts. Takeouts available by calling 902-257-2811. Proceeds to St. John’s and St. Matthew’s churches.

9:15 to 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Amherst. Sponsored by W.B. Wells Foundation.

 

Foolish Fashion Show

7 p.m. at the Oxford Capitol Theatre. Hosted by the Oxford-Pugwash Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society. For tickets, contact Bev at 902-552-2157 or Bob at 902-694-2206.

 

Food Drive

10 a.m. to 12 p.m. the Cumberland Y Service Club spring food drive in Amherst. If you’re not at home, leave food bag on the front step. In support of the Amherst Food Assistance Network

 

Spring Fling Concert

7 p.m. at the Northumberland Curling Club in support of the 11th HarbourFest. Featuring an evening of entertainment with Lee Fleming and Friends, Rochenda Cowles-Tilt, Donnie Alt, Mal Amal, John Caraberis, Doug Van Hemessen and Wally Vaters. A special silent cake auction will take place was a well as a brief presentation by the Pugwash Waterfront Development Committee.

 

Musical Evening

8 to 11 p.m. at the Amherst 50+ Club, 52 Croft St., Amherst, featuring Steve Ripley. Donations at the door with a light lunch to follow. Everyone welcome. Last musical evening until September.

 

Breakfast for the Fling

7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Breakfast at Brittney’s for the Cumberland Health Care Auxiliary Highland Fling. $2 from any meal over $8 goes to the Fling.

 

Spring Sale

9:30 a.m. at the Salvation Army Church, Springhill with baked goods, crafts, plants, barbecued hot dogs and hamburgers, pop and a sundae bar.

 

Masonic Breakfast

7:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Amherst Masonic Temple, 20 Lawrence St., Amherst, featuring eggs, bacon or sausages, hashbrowns, orange juice, tea and coffee. Takeouts also available.

 

Rummage Sale and Bazaar

9 a.m. to noon at Trinity-St. Stephen’s United Church, Amherst. Spring clothing, baking, used books, silent auction and canteen.

 

Used Book and Bake Sale

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Springhill Baptist Church. There will also be a bottle drive in the community at the same time. Proceeds to support Springhill Refugee Project.

 

Church Meeting

10 a.m at the Athol Church, board of trustees hosting a business meeting to determine the fate of the building.

 

May 1

Crib Tournament

1 p.m. at the RCAF Association 105 (Cumberland) Wing, Havelock Street, Amherst. Must have a partner. Call 902-667-9262 for more information.

 

Lady Tweedsmuir Spring Tea

12 to 3 p.m. at Judy and Jim Milner’s. There’ll be sandwiches, sweets, tea and coffee.  There will also be a live auction of home cooking.

 

Northport Hillside Cemetery AGM

7 p.m. annual meeting of Northport Hillside Cemetery at the Northport Community Centre.

 

Hot & Cold Supper

5 p.m. at Mount Whatley Hall. Proceeds for Chignecto 4-H Club
