Springhill’s Winter Carnival begins at the end of the month and brings the fun into February this year.
Officially kicking off Friday, Jan. 27, here will be a free after school skate in the afternoon and then on Saturday, Jan. 28, the Springhill Legion will be hosting a breakfast – $5 for anyone 12 and under, $8 for everyone else.
Saturday will also see the Chilli Willi Cook off return for a second year, running from noon until 2 p.m. and then at 6:30 p.m. will be a family movie night at the community centre.
For the adults, there will be a ‘Snowshoe and Brew’ hosted by the centre and Trider’s Craft Beer from 7p.m. to 10 p.m. Participants must be 19 or older, and must register in advance by calling 902-763-3025. Snowshoes will be available. Cost is $15.
For the not-so-adults, the teen centre is putting on a match of flashlight tag from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
On Sunday, Jan. 29, there will be an adults-only crib tournament in the afternoon and in the evening a games tournament will be held in the teen centre from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
