Amherst readies for Family Violence Prevention Week

Family Violence Prevention Week [FVPW] this year takes place the week of Feb. 11th and locally the Inter-Agency Committee spearheading will host a number of information sessions and events, with Feb. 13th being the showcase of this year’s efforts.

The FVPW coffeehouse will take place at the Community Credit Union Business and Innovation Centre at 6 Ratchford St. From 7 to 9 p.m. music will be performed by Michelle Leblanc and a spoken word performance will be made by Ashley Avery. Tickets are $10 and available at Art of Eating Deli.

Outside of the coffeehouse, there will be a number of information events, including a lunch and learn, as well as information tables at Amherst Regional High School and the Nova Scotia Community College’s Amherst campus.
