McCarthy handed suspended sentence

Shane Lewis McCarthy, 34, of Grand-Barchois, N.B., was handed an 18-month conditional sentence, $400 fine, and ordered to provide a DNA sample after pleading guilty to four counts of break and enter to commit an indictable offense.

The incidents occurred between Jan. 25, 2017, and Jan 27, 2017, in Tidnish.

Leblanc jailed for year minus time served

Jason Leroy Leblanc, 41, of no fixed address, was sentenced to 365 days custody, less 38 days for time served for a total of 327 days remaining, after pleading guilty to a count of break and enter.

The incident occurred Jan. 8, 2018, in Amherst.

Six months added to Fink’s sentence

Matthew James Fink, 35, of Amherst, was sentenced to six months custody, consecutive to any sentence currently being served, after pleading guilty to sexual assault.

Fink was also ordered to provide a DNA sample, handed a 10-year weapons ban, and will be registered sex offender for life.
The incident occurred between Oct. 1, 2016, and Dec. 31, 2016, in Amherst.

Fink was also handed three months consecutive custody and fined $100 after pleading guilty to unlawfully transmitting intimate images without consent.
That incident occurred Oct. 19, 2016, in Amherst.

In December 2016, Fink, 35, was sentenced in Amherst Provincial Court to two years custody after pleading guilty to sexual assault.

That incident occurred between Nov. 1, 2016, and Nov. 20, 2016, in Amherst.

Fink was also handed 540 days custody, less 330 days for time served credited at time-and-a-half, and a further 150 days consecutive custody followed by two years probation, after pleading guilty to charges of sexual assault and assault between Dec. 1, 2016, and Feb. 28, 2016, in Amherst.
