On June 12 the 30-year-old male assaulted the 25-year-old male with a weapon believed to be a wooden table leg outside a residence on Spring Street.
He has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and breach of an undertaking.
The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the CRHCC, where he was treated and released. The suspect fled the scene and police were unable to locate him.
Police were already looking for the suspect in relation to another assault that occurred on June 10 in Amherst.
On June 15 the 25-year-old assaulted the 30-year-old with a baseball bat outside a Crescent Street residence in retaliation of the first assault.
He suffered non-life threatening injuries which did not require medical attention. He has been charged with assault with a weapon, breach of an undertaking and breach of probation.
At the time of these incidents the men were both on conditions not to have any contact with each other.
The 30-year-old was arrested at during the evening of June 15 and the 25-year-old turned himself into police later that evening.
Both men were held in custody overnight.
They appeared in Amherst Provincial Court on June 16 at 9:30 a.m. Both were remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear in Amherst Provincial Court on Monday.
