PARRSBORO, N.S. – Blue skies and free ice cream were served during the Family Kite Flying event Saturday at Partridge Island just outside of Parrsboro.

There was only one problem. Somebody forgot to order the wind.

Despite the lack of wind, youngsters still tried their best to get their kites to take flight by running along the beach with kites fluttering close behind.
