PARRSBORO, N.S. – On Sunday, June 26, at 7 p.m. Classics by the Bay, the delightful classical music festival in Parrsboro will culminate with a concert by the Beausejour Wind Quintet.
This group of accomplished musicians, Anne Varner, flute, Belinda Code, oboe, James Mark, clarinet, Iris Frazer, bassoon and William Costin, horn, will perform an eclectic programme of wind music chosen especially to enchant an audience on a summer evening.
Featured on the programme will be the Quintet in Bb major by Franz Danzi, “Walking Tune” by Percy Grainger, “A Small Musical Offering” by Nino Rota, “Three Moods” by Andrey Rubtsov and an exciting arrangement of George Gershwins’s iconic masterpiece, “Rhapsody in Blue”. Suitable for all ages, the concert will be held in the beautifully renovated Parrsboro Band Hall, formerly the historic St. James Presbyterian Church.
Tickets for this event are $20.00 and are available at the door. Children under 16 are admitted free.
