SPRINGHILL – The days are rolling off towards turning Springhill’s $25,000 win in the TSN Kraft Celebration Tour into $100,000.
The community learned on Canada Day it is one of 10 successful nominees in the national contest, earning it $25,000 towards park upgraded. Now on the horizon is the national online voting contest to add another $75,000 to its purse and make a complete upgrade of its former arena space into an outdoor athletics facility.
Online voting begins Monday, July 21 at 9 a.m., and ends Tuesday, July 22, at 11:59 p.m. Voting takes place online at www.kraftcelebrationtour.ca.

The community will be facing stiff competition from nine other communities when the online voting begins. Also competing for the $75,000 prize are: Gander, Montebello, Ottawa, Barrhead, Nanaimo, St. Andrews, Birchwood, Holland and Prince Albert.
As part of Springhill’s winning in the first leg of the contest, it will host TSN’s SportCentre on August 19, 2014, as part of the celebration tour. Local organizers are already working towards making the event a big celebration fro everyone in, and coming to, the community.
