Street crime unit arrests Amherst man

Facing several charges, including possessing stolen property and break into Archway Insurance

An Amherst man is facing several charges after being arrested by the Cumberland County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit.

AMHERST – A 24-year-old Amherst man was arrested by the Cumberland Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit during an incident just before 10 p.m. on Wednesday night.

During his arrest, the man resisted officers and attempted to damage a police vehicle.

It was also determined during his apprehension for a breach of recognizance that he was in possession of stolen property.

The stolen property included computer equipment allegedly taken during a break and enter into Archway Insurance early Wednesday morning.

The man made a brief court appearance Friday and has been remanded in custody until a bail hearing on July 2.

He is charged with resisting arrest, break and enter, possession of stolen property and breaching a recognizance order.
