Building on a successful PeacemakeHers conference last summer, a one-day conference will be held in August on the grounds of Thinker's Lodge in Pugwash.
PUGWASH – Registration has begun for the PeacemakeHers conference in Pugwash in August.
PeacemakeHers is a project of the Nova Scotia Voice of Women for Peace.
This project endeavors to create opportunities for learning and collaboration for young women in the Atlantic region.
This year’s one-day conference is Aug. 24 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and it invites women of all ages to join together at Thinkers Lodge Dining Hall in Pugwash – which continues to be an essential landmark of the peace movement.
Building on the momentum of PeacemakeHers 2013, a three-day leadership camp for young women held at Thinkers Lodge, this year the program aims to engage women from a diversity of backgrounds and experiences to learn from and with each other; to create helpful and hopeful peace activities in their local communities.
Registration for this event is free and runs until July 15.
