Funeral for three slain RCMP officers in Moncton today

The funeral for three RCMP officers shot to death in Moncton last Wednesday night is at the Moncton Coliseum.

MONCTON – The funeral for three RCMP officers fatally shot by a lone gunman last Wednesday has wrapped up in Moncton.

Thousands of people lined the streets of Moncton leading up to the coliseum where the funeral is being held for Constables Fabrice Georges Gevaudan, Douglas James Larche and Dave Joseph Ross.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Governor General David Johnston were among the officials attending the funeral, while several thousand law enforcement officers, correctional officers and others from across the county and the United States filled the seats at the coliseum.

Numberous law enforcements officials from Cumberland County were also in attendance.

RCMP books condolence are still available at Cumberland County's four RCMP detachments as well as at Campbell's Funeral Home and Furlong-Jones Funeral Home and A.H. Brown Funeral Home in Springhill.

The books of condolence will be collected and presented to Codiac RCMP next week.
