Applications being accepted for Kim Wry Memorial Bursary

AMHERST – Applications are being accepted for the Kim Wry Memorial Bursary.

The bursary was developed to honour the memory of Kim Wry, the Zonta Club of Amherst’s Charter president. She was a strong advocate for women’s rights that includes furthering higher education for all women.

The bursary, valued at $1,000, is intended to be utilized by a woman who qualifies as a mature student and is enrolled in a post-secondary program.

A mature student is anyone over age 22 who has been away from full-time study for five years.

Proof of registration with a recognized institution is required and must be included with the completed application.

Prior recipients are not permitted to reapply.

Applications can be picked up at Creighton Shatford, 14 Electric St., Amherst or at the Amherst Post Office, 38 Havelock St., Amherst.

Applications must be submitted by June 20 to Zonta Club of Amherst Area, c/o Judy Williston, P.O. Box 3, Amherst, N.S. B4H 1X0.
