AMHERST – The final pieces are falling into place for the Amherst Rotary Club’s 59th Radio Auction.

While bidding has been taking place online at www.amherstrotaryauction.com for several weeks, the telephone lines will be open from 2 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m. to receive bids on numerous items donated by area businesses and individuals.

People are asked to go to the online site to register and place bids, but if you don’t have computer access you can call 667-0220 and a member of the Amherst Rotary Club will help you register and take your bids.

The auction is also being simulcast on 107.9 Tantramar Community Radio from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday. There will be auction-related programming on the station during the afternoon.

More than $40,000 in merchandise is available for auction.

The auction generally nets between $20,000 and $25,000 for the Amherst Rotary Club for use in its support of Camp Tidnish, youth scholarships, the Rotary Centennial Park and other projects.
