SPRINGHILL – A group of concerned citizens in Springhill are holding a public meeting to discuss the dissolution of the Town of Springhill.

The committee behind the meeting called for Thursday, May 1, will present information they received regarding the decision and create an opportunity for citizens and taxpayers to voice any concerns.

Former Cumberland South MLA Murray Scott, a member of the concerned citizens commitee, says mayor and council have been invited to attend the meeting, which will take place at the Dr. Carson and Marion Murray Community Centre.

"We all want what is best for the Town of Springhill and its citizens, both now and in the future," a press release from the committee reads. "We encourage you to come and take part. Your input and presence is vital in order to determine the next steps. If future actions are to be continued, our council must see your show of support and concern."
