AMHERST – A 37-year-old Amherst area man was arrested by the provincial RCMP Internet Child Exploitation Unit and charged with luring a child.

A search warrant was executed Tuesday morning by members of the provincial ICE unit, RCMP Technological Crime Unit, the Cumberland Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit

As a result, police seized two computers and thumb drives from the residence and charged the male, who was later released from custody and is scheduled to make his first court appareance in Amherst provincial court at 9:30 a.m. on July 28.

Police have not released the man's name.
