AMHERST – Police have ruled out foul play in the death of a 22-year-old man whose body was found in a wooded area off South Albion Street in Amherst on Saturday.
Police said Monday the autopsy completed earlier that day has concluded foul play was not involved.
The investigation has determined the man was last seen at approximately 5 a.m. on Saturday. Family and friends began looking for the man when he failed to return home and did not respond to text messages.
They located the man’s body shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday and called 911.
Police are not releasing the man’s name at the request of the family.
While foul play has been ruled out, verification of the cause of death is pending further autopsy results.
