McKay pleads guilty to string of charges

Adam Kevin McKay, 27, of West Brook, will return to Amherst Provincial Court on May 3 for sentencing after pleading guilty to unlawfully entering a dwelling and committing an indictable offence, aggravated assault, assault, breaching a recognizance to not possess weapons, breaching a curfew, and breaching a no-contact order.

The incidents occurred Mar. 4, 2018, in Amherst.

Gidney sentenced to 20 months in jail

Craig Allen Gidney, 41, of Digby, was sentenced to 20-months custody followed by a 10-year driving prohibition after pleading guilty to driving a motor vehicle while disqualified, possession of stolen property, refusing the breathalyzer, operating a motor vehicle in a manner dangerous to the public peace and resisting arrest.

The incidents occurred Mar. 17, 2018, in South Victoria.

Hyatt handed probation

Doug Patrick Scott Hyatt, 53, of New Minas, was handed a suspended sentence and 12-months probation after pleading guilty to assault.

The incident occurred Feb. 9, 2018, in Springhill.

Mackenzie fined $100

Austin Charles Wayne MacKenzie, 19, of Amherst, was handed a conditional discharge, two-months probation, and fined $100 after pleading guilty to possessing marijuana.

The incident occurred Oct. 23, 2017, in Amherst.

Plourde fined $100

Josh Plourde, 23, of 55 Pleasant Street, Springhill, was handed a suspended sentence, 12-months probation and fined $100, after pleading guilty to break and enter, committing an indictable offence therein.

The incident occurred Dec. 5, 2017, in Springhill.

Mingo fined $1,950

Tristen Wayne Veno Mingo, 21, of Truro, was fined $1,950 and handed a 12-month driving prohibition after pleading guilty to operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol concentration in excess of .08 per cent.

The incident occurred May 6, 2017, in Middleboro.
