WINDSOR, N.S. – The Little Town of Big Firsts can hang another milestone on its long list of accomplishments: it’s now the home of the world’s weirdest sporting event, according to a recent poll.
As seen in the U.K.’s The Independent, pumpkin kayaking made it to the top of the pack amongst other wild activities, which include dog surfing and extreme ironing.
The poll was conducted by Casumo.com, as part of an online marketing campaign, but the big news is clearly that Windsor has once again found itself on the world stage.
Over 2,000 people were surveyed on which sport they thought was the weirdest, and for some reason hollowing out a giant pumpkin and paddling it across a lake came out on top. Who knew?
Perhaps this added international attention will help grow Windsor’s marquee event even more.
