The Fundy Geological Museum are positioned to become the summer vacation champions of August as they offer a series of beach tours and guided walks along the Bay of Fundy coast, including walks to their research site at Wasson Bluff.

The Fundy Geological Museum’s Fossil Lab Manager Regan Maloney explains how tectonic plate movement created the landscape participants experienced in a guided tour to a Jurassic-era research site.

Some of the oldest dinosaurs in the world are being discovered at Wasson Bluff and on Aug. 2nd the museum’s fossil lab manager, Regan Maloney, brought participants up close to the work being done to learn the secrets of the Jurassic era.

For the remainder of the month, more guided tours to Wasson Bluff, Partridge Island, First Beach will take place, and on August 18 – 20 the annual Nova Scotia Gem and Mineral Show and Parrsboro Rockhound Roundup will take place in the community.

The lowest tides in the world offer easy walking along Wasson Bluff.

Trenton Cameron travelled almost 2,000 km from Ontario to meet his new hero, Dr. Tim Fedak. Cameron is an avid dinosaur hunter and his parents, Darin and Megan, say Trenton enthusiasm digging for dinosaurs at home inspired them to vacation in Five Islands so they could participate in the guided walk and look for fossils.
