Snowmobile club hosting fish fry Oct. 7


It has been a beautifully warm September. The leaves are gradually beginning to turn and display their vibrant fall colours.  

I would like to congratulate Bruce Langille and Nate Nuttall, who were the winners of the inaugural Walter Lake Bass Fishing Derby. It was a great time to enjoy the beach, socialize, and remember Walter.
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family and friends of David Morris of Ward's Brook, who recently passed away. Conrad Byers of Parrsboro also passed away. Both David and Conrad will be missed and remembered.
On Saturday, Oct. 7, the Chignecto-Glooscap Snowmobile Association will hold its annual fish fry (flounder and fries) at the FPW Fire Hall from 4:30-6 p.m. The fish is always cooked to perfection and enjoyed.
Please remember to go through your closet for winter clothing and footwear that you no longer need or wear. The Shore Drive Community Development Association will gladly accept your donations. Items can be dropped off at Sharon Benjamin's or Barb Aris's. I will announce the date of the Shop My Closet event as soon as it is confirmed, where all clothing items will be available free of charge.
I watched the last home game of the Toronto Blue Jays on the weekend. It has been a tough season for the Jays but there is always next year.
I would like to wish Pam Harvey a belated happy birthday. I hope you had a great day, Pam.
It was nice to see Gayle and Terry Shaw home for a visit. Gayle and Terry ran the store here for many years and were very involved in community life.
