Oxford Regional High School graduates 34 students

OXFORD - Thirty-four students graduated from Oxford Regional High School on Friday, June 26.

Megan Graves received the Oxford Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 36 Poppy Fund Bursary of $300, the Cedar Temple Mo. 21 Pythian Sisters Memorial Bursary of $300, the Betty Rector Memorial Bursary of about $500, the Oxford Pharmasave Bursary of $1,000, the Nova Scotia Freemasons Scholarship, Widow's Son Lodge No. 48, of $1,000, the Community Credit Union Bursary of $1,000, and a Nova Scotia Community College Entrance Award of $2,700;

Nicholas Dormiedy received the Isabel Simpson Bursary (All Saints Community Health Care Foundation) of $200, the School Advisory Council Award of $250, the Bobby Mattinson Memorial Bursary of $500, the Fred Nix Memorial Bursary of $500, the Nova Scotia Freemasons Scholarship, Widow's Son Lodge No. 48, of $1,000, and a Nova Scotia Community College Entrance Award of $2,700;

Donald Clark received the MacDonald Survey Bursary of $100 to the student with the highest mark in calculus, the Harry and Eileen Oickle Memorial Bursary of $250, the Oxford Home and School Association Bursary of $250, the Cedar Temple No. 21, Pythian Sisters Memorial Bursary of $300, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 36 Oxford Legion Poppy Fund Brsary of $300, the Town of Oxford Bursary of $500, the Stay in School Award of $500, the Nova Scotia Freemasons Scholarship, Wimburn No. 75 of $1,000, and a University of New Brunswick entrance scholarship of $750;

Travis Griffin received the Oxford Firefighters Ladies Auxiliary Bursary of $100, the Nova Scotia and Westcumb Amateur Radio Association Bursary of $200, and the Nova Scotia Freemasons Scholarship, Wimburn Lodge No. 75, of $1,000;

Gordon Brookins received the Darren (Pugs) Wood Memorial Bursary of $250, and the Oxford and Area Lions Club Bursary of $750;

Robert Visser received the Pizza L'Amore Bursary of $100, and the Oxford Area Lions Club Bursary of $750;

Stephanie Quinn received the Darren (Pugs) Wood Memorial Bursary of $100, and the Oxford Home and School Association Bursary of $250;

Darren Rushton received the Oxford Firefighters Ladies' Auxiliary Bursary of $100, and the Oxford Volunteer Fire Department Bursary of $250;

Michael Bragg received the MLA Murray Scott and Cumberland South Progressive Conservative Association Bursary of $100;

Robyn MacLean received the ORHS Staff Award of $100;

Damon Mattinson received the Aliant Telecom Pioneers Bursary of $100;

Laurena Moore received the Louise Oickle of the Prince Arthur Boarding House, Amherst Bursary of $100;

Corey Taylor received the ORHS Staff Award of $100.

Karen Brookins and Michael Reid received the ORHS Lieutenant-Governor Medal, while Nick Dormiedy received both the Governor General Medal and the QEII Medal.
