First of all, I would like to apologize for a typo I made last week. I said Gertie Gottell passed away on March 24; it should have read Feb. 24. Sorry about that, folks!

Hope everyone managed to keep warm during our cold spell of weather we have experienced lately.

Wonder what this week will bring, snow-wise. Nice to have the extra hour of sunlight, starting Sunday evening. Spring arrives on March 20, so things are looking up.

On Thursday, Ronalda and Barry Smith, Shirley White and Aidan visited with Ken and Bonnie Langille at their farm in Malagash and enjoyed supper. On Saturday, Shirley and Aidan visited with Curtis and Cheryl White, Riverview. Barry, Ronalda and Shirley returned Aidan home to Saint John on Sunday, and had lunch with Charlene, Coady and Kelsey.

Birthday greetings go out this week to Jordan Bennett, Muriel Latta and Eddy Polley, Pugwash; Robbie Nicholson and Geraldine Pye, W. Pugwash; Irene Myers, S. Pugwash; Diggy (Charles) Trenholm, Linden; Gladys Mingo, Tatamagouche; Sheila Thompson, Leicester; Patti Hollis MacDonald, Truro; Genelle Dixon Handy, Port Howe; and twins Emily and Jessica Flynn, Wallace.  Belated wedding anniversary wishes to Dennis and Vicky Lynds, Lake Road.

Visitors with Mary Doyle this week include John and Shirley Fortier, Riverview; Joyce Bennett, Peggy Allen and Lillix. I think Mary has been holding out on some of her callers; she told me she has a frequent visit from Mr. Arthur Itis. I do believe that most of us oldies have that visitor, too.

The Royal Canadian Legion Peace Br. #60, Pugwash, and Ladies Auxiliary both met at the legion for their monthly meetings on Thursday evening. The NCMH Auxiliary also met on Tuesday afternoon in the Board Room at the Hospital, with Lavona Austin chairing the meeting in Beryl MacLean’s absence.

Callers with me this week include Lynn McKellar, N. Wallace; Denise Darragh, Kate Wilson, and Bruce Gullons, Wallace; Ron Trenholm, Rockley; Lillix Polley, Dartmouth; Peggy Allen, Terry Smith, Roberta Angevine and Janet Gullens, Pugwash. Some had lunch and/or supper with me; one friend brought supper in; another brought a delicious plate of cookies; one gent brought me a jar of pickled eggs. As I always say, I am so blessed!

Prayers, please, for all our sick and shut-in friends and neighbours.

Hope our teachers and students are enjoying their March Break! Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all.

Thought for the week: “Stop focusing on how stressed you are and remember how blessed you are!”
