Congratulations to Marion MacDonald who won the November King of Hearts. Anyone wishing to play this month can contact Lion Grant MacNeil at 902 669 1562. Cards are $5.00 each and the winner receives $130.

As we approach the holiday season we would like to remind you of our Toys For Tots campaign. We have collection boxes located at Pharmasave, the Guardian Drugstore, The Bargain Shop, Home Hardware, CIBC, St. Andrew's Wesley-United Church, The Salvation Army, Springhill Baptist Church, and All Saints Anglican Church. All new unwrapped toys can be dropped off at any of these locations until December 14th. Eligible ages for this program are children from birth to age 14. The pick up date will be December 22nd from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at The Salvation Army Church. We would like to remind recipients to please bring photo ID with you.

We are also very excited to have our 2nd annual stuff the truck toy and food drive on Saturday, December 10th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Anne Murray Centre parking lot. We will be accepting new unwrapped toys and monetary donations as well as non perishable food items for the food bank. This was a huge success last year and we anticipate another successful event. Santa will be there so bring your cameras for pictures and enjoy some hot chocolate provided by Tim Hortons

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our gracious, giving community as without you this program would cease to exist. Thank you also to all our toy collection locations for participating in this annual event. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.

The Bargain Shop has a great selection of toys and we encourage everyone to shop locally as much as possible. While you are out shopping please think about making a purchase for the Toys For Tots program.

As always we wish you a safe, happy and healthy holiday season.

From the Streets
“The Lions Club in Springhill is a vital bridge in our community, spanning the gap between the needs of our people and fulfillment of the same by rolling up their sleeves and working hard at whatever task they take on. Whether it be walking from Springhill to Truro to raise funds to assist a child, cleaning the roadsides, or BBQing, the Lions Club is always ready to volunteer their time, skill and effort for the benefit of our community. A sincere thank you goes out to our friends, family, neighbours and coworkers who are members of the Lions Club. We appreciate you!” -Wanita Shay, Executive Director Anne Murray Centre
