Good morning to all our faithful readers. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends.
We cooked our Christmas dinner on Dec. 26, due to some of the family’s schedule. Those who came for supper with Wendell, Margaret and Wendy Reid were Jim and Norma Reid of Bridgewater, Wayne and Karma Reid and Blaine Reid all of Pugwash, Brent and Charlene Reid and Jordon Reid of Hantsport. Wayne and Karma Reid had cooked the turkey for us and made potato dressing, so Wendell and I prepared the vegetables, and made several kinds of pie for dessert.
It was wonderful to have so many of the children home for the Christmas dinner.
When our children were young, their favourite dessert for supper on Christmas was strawberry short cake.
Greg and Margo Patriquin, Logan and Lexie Patriquin of Collingwood, were very pleased to have Jeroem de Groot of Amsterdam, Netherlands, and their daughter, Kya Milton with them over the Christmas Holidays.
The community was saddened to hear of the passing of Margaret (Casey) MacIntosh last week. Margaret was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Group in Little River and she was very active in the work of the church for many years. We would like to express sympathy to her family and many friends.
Bruce and Lorna Stewart, Alvord and Linda Stewart, Steven and Shelly Stewart, and their daughter Riane, were among those from Millvale, who attended the Christmas Eve Field Service, which was held this year in the New Annan United Baptist Church.
There was a good number of folks in attendance and it was a very interesting service with members of each of the congregations taking part.
Marion Burbine, Southampton; Theresa Dowe, Five Islands; Jen Moore Valley Road, Lillian Arseneau, Springhill; Mervyn and Mary Esther Smith of Millvale; and Jeanne Knol of Oxford, all enjoyed a pot luck supper at the home of Greg and Margo Patriquin of Collingwood recently.
Visitors for supper on Christmas Day with Mervyn and Mary Esther Smith and Blaine Smith, were Blake and Monica Smith and Erica Smith of Collingwood; Greg and Margo Pattriquin, Logan and Lexie, Kya Milton, of Collingwood; Jeroem de Groot of Amsterdam; Jeannie Knol, Quinn, Makenna, Holly and Griffen, of Oxford; and Jerry Smith, Kassy Robinson and baby Leevi of Oxford.
Holiday visitors with Alvord and Linda Stewart of Millvale were their son Steven, his wife Shelly, and their daughter Riane from Gorham, Maine. They spent time visiting with their family and friends in the area, and they especially enjoyed, bringing in the New Year with their Family.
Greg and Margo Patriquin, Kya Milton, Jeroem de Groot, Mervyn and Mary Esther Smith all enjoyed supper at the Amherst Shore Inn on Dec. 29.
Rev. Pastor Jim Smith made some calls in the community on Sunday, to deliver our Daily Bread booklets.
Mary Esther Smith was a recent visitor with Jeannie Knol and Family of Oxford. Mary Esther also visited with Norma Joyce Hurley of Thomson.
We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, and we wish you, all the best in the new year ahead!
