Hello from beautiful downtown New Salem.

On Thursday, Nov. 23 it's Lego Day at the Advocate library from 3-5 p.m. Children under nine must be accompanied by an adult.

On Friday, Nov. 24 Spencer's Island Bingo will be held at the Advocate Fire Hall at 7 p.m. Come on out for an evening of fun.

The Downshore Christmas Market will be on Saturday, Nov. 25 at the log building from 9 a.m. to noon. Come on out for a coffee with a friend or meet a new friend and browse the local vendors’ wares.

Ladies, it is that time of year again. Come join us at the Advocate Fire Hall on Saturday, Nov. 25 for an evening of food, fun and friends. Admission is $20 per person. Bring along your favorite appetizer, main dish or dessert to share with the others. Doors open for “Happy Hour” at 5 p.m. Dinner starts at 6 p.m. It's a fun night out while raising money for the Advocate school sports program.

We are always looking for auction items and door prize items. If you would like to donate items, please contact Kim MacGillivary or Coralee MacGillivary or drop off items at the school anytime.

Monday, Nov. 27 is the first provincial Healthcare Foundations Day. The Bayview Communities Health Foundation would like to thank all who have supported us. We are happy to tell you that we have pledged funding to Bayview Memorial Health Centre to support the purchase of two new ceiling lifts in the next fiscal year. These lifts will improve safety for both the residents and the staff of the facility. Any donations that we receive in the coming year will be put toward this project

That's it for this week. Have a great week, everyone, and enjoy your family and friends.
