Falls Prevention Expo at Cumberland regional hospital on Tuesday


AMHERST, N.S. – The Cumberland Aging Well Network, with the Cumberland Fall Prevention Advisory Committee, is hosting a falls prevention expo on Tuesday at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.

The expo runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the hospital cafeteria and will cover preventing falls in the community, at home, work and while in hospital.

There will be demos and displays as well as information about community resources. Health professionals will also be on hand to talk about steps people can take to reduce the risk of falls.

The expo is open to community members, clients, patients and their families, staff, students and volunteers.

Parking tokens will be provided for visiting the displays and information sessions.

There is no cost to attend.
